These fabrics are specially chosen by the PERFORMANCE FORUM JURY; this TABLE is dedicated to a changing topic per event. The JURY consists of experts from fabric technology, sports design, independent experts from universities, textile consulting managers and purchasing departments from different outdoor brands.

Jury's Pick April 2018

The many aspects of the topic of cooling are explained in great detail. The structure of yarns and fabricssuch as additives in the yarn or fabric treatmentsare of key significance. The latest prints support cooling by blocking heat radiation on the outside. Others support the rapid distribution of perspiration. Carbon, graphene, minerals, and activated carbon are often used in these products. Still other ways to achieve cooling rely on the use of PCMs (Phase Change Materials).

Jury's Pick November 2017

Fabrics with thermal properties are very important for winter collections and worth being a FOCUS TOPIC. Many of the various possibilities to create heat are presented: From purely passive fabric designs with piles and paddings, to some with additives like PCM or ceramic and mineral particles in the fibres, to others with specially designed fibre cross-sections or some with reflective backings that trap and return body heat. Innovative, active, textile heating systems are also on display at the PERFORMANCE WALL.
