Workwear & Heavy Duty April 2017

The fabrics on this table are not just for work clothing. While they are robust and highly abrasion resistant, rather than stiff they are quite soft and even stretch. Aramid also comes in a black variant for a modest look; rip stops are lighter than before and the natural fibres are even flame-retardant. Recycled fabrics have also made inroads to workwear, with certified materials that protect the wearer.

Workwear & Heavy Duty November 2016

The materials for safety and protective workwear are joined by highly abrasion resistant fabrics for the hard climb on the mountain face. Innovations in the robust grades are jerseys with Cordura and many light grades with Vectran and Dyneema; also elastic, highly abrasion resistant, double-weave fabrics for inserts at the knee and elbow. And, for the first time, you can now find recycled, certified high-vis fabrics.
