These fabrics can be used as the second or base layer.
They are mostly woven and can have either a light or heavy quality. They can be elastic but also have to have functional properties such as quick dry, water repellant or breathable. They are used in sport shirts and pants for outdoor, hiking, climbing, biking, ski touring, fitness, and yoga.

Shirt & Pants November 2017

As result of the last Focus Topic in May, many biodegradable fabrics are now appearing among the materials for trousers. New techniques such as zonal weaving are making their mark. You will find lots of stretch and some compressive grades for fitness and athleisure, all fashionably interpreted as woven or knit denim, or with silicon treated seams for a better grip. Fabrics for the shirts are very lightweight and elastic and combine natural fibres with either recycled or biopolymer-based synthetics.

Shirt & Pants April 2017

The main statements of this table are on ecology plus sophistication. Many natural fibres can be seen in addition to recycled fibres that all ensure wearing comfort. These blends of organic cotton, Tencel, wool or linen with synthetic fibres also provide the required functionalities. Substantial changes have arrived for trouser fabrics: Denim is always in the lead with functional features like fast drying and greater abrasion resistance.
