AB-Tec and its sister company Spunfab are German and American manufacturers of roll-form thermoplastic web adhesives (Co-PA, Co-PES, Co-PO, Co-PP, Co-PU, Co-EVA and others), heat-activatable dry, breathable, flexible, solvent-free with limited penetration into porous or absorbent materials. The open structure makes the resultant laminate more flexible and breathable.
Both companies are committed to sustainability and environmental responsibility, achieving to reduce their carbon footprint. For example, AB-Tec offers various biobased CoPA and CoPES types of web adhesives based on sustainable farmed feedstock polymers (not for feed or food) with a raw material content up to over 90%. TPU based web adhesives are already in development.
Other new developments include compostable (industrial) thermoplastic web adhesives and the use of own recycled materials.
