Insulation & Fibres
Composition 48% PES rec., 52% Recycled Camelhair
Ecologically responsible family of lightweight, breathable thermal insulations, giving new purpose to otherwise discarded precious materials. Recovered scraps of camelhair fabrics during the subsequent production of coats are upcycled to create warm and light insulations, using a patented process in three steps: firstly, recovered materials are gathered and sorted in Northern Italy; secondly, they are transformed through a mechanical process into very fine fibers; lastly, the fibers are blended with recycled Polyester, creating a high performing insulating mix, ready to be processed to create pads. The entire process is less impactful in terms of energy consumption, waste production, CO2 emission, no use of water. It allows the development of highly resilient insulation pads with extraordinary tensile strength qualities and consistent insulating capacity, without using new feedstocks. CAMELUXE comes with an eco-friendly chlorine-free finish and can be washed.
Established in 1955, Imbotex is a leader in the field of natural materials and technology. The company is organized into two divisions: upholstery for furniture and bedding and insulations for high-performance apparel and sportswear. These sectors work together in a continuous exchange of production and know-how. With the entrepreneurial, all-female dynamics defining the company, the business strategy has focused on the production of insulations for body wellness – entirely made in Italy.
