Odour Breakdown is a biocide-free odour control solution. The technology is wash-durable and works by absorbing malodours and complexing them to a neutral and odourless state. Textiles are prone to malodours because odorous substances are adsorbed to the fibre and released over time. The malodours are mostly caused by Bacteria breaking down sweat in mainly acids, ammonia and sulphides (chemical malodours). Being surrounded by unpleasant smells, creates some discomfort in our daily life activities. Odour Breakdown® is biocidal-free odour control technology that reduces malodours, like Isovaleric acid. On top of this, it removes the source, the bacteria from the fabric in a simple domestic wash cycle. Odour Breakdown® WASHDURABLE has a dual action: 1. The technology reduces the affinity from the bacteria to the fabric and hence is easily removed via (low) temperature washing. 2. The produced chemical malodours are captured to reduce the smell. The technology works for PES, but also for cotton and Polyamide.
