Water - the Bigger Picture
Many textile processes use enormous of amounts of fresh water from textile production to laundering. Chemicals used in textile mills, such as pigments and dyes or finishing agents can be emitted to waste water in the plant, household water and during industrial laundering contributing to the pollution thus the scarcity of clean water. It is therefore important to mitigate the release, especially of chemicals of concern and microfibres, in all parts of the life cycle in order to not overuse and pollution of fresh water and the sea. However there are innovation taking place in this area. Christina will give an overview based on scientific reports and roll out options and visions for a better future.
