Christian Lott is co-director of HYDRA Marine Sciences and a marine biologist by training. He has been a diving instructor and expedition leader for 40 years with of over 150 research projects worldwide. As underwater filmmaker, he was involved in over 60 international environmental and wildlife documentaries. Following his strong scientific record as an environmental scientist, over the past 20 years, he and his team have established themselves as recognized experts in biodegradable polymers and materials. HYDRA Marine Sciences runs a research and test center in Bühl, Germany, providing material testing services for manufacturers and brands, as well as scientific consultancy on the environmental fate of biodegradable materials to support evidence-based material selection.

Through A Blue World’s strategic investment in SMARTFIBER AG, Christopher is leading the development and commercialization of proprietary technologies that integrate marine, mineral and other bioactive agents directly into cellulosic fibers. This scientific platform enables measurable biological functionality to become intrinsic to the material itself, establishing the foundation for SKINWEAR™, a new category of products designed to interact more intelligently with the human body.
Christopher brings more than two decades of experience building and scaling design-led businesses, including ventures acquired by LVMH and Estée Lauder. His work now sits at the intersection of biotechnology, material science, human health and industrial commercialization.

His ambition is to move the industry beyond reducing harm and towards building better products aligned with human values of self-flourishing, longevity and environmental responsibility.

Lorenzo Rescali is a textile professional with extensive international experience in yarn development, marketing and business development. His company, BYR International, works closely with textile manufacturers, brands and retailers worldwide, with a strong focus on innovation based on cotton and natural fibers.

He is actively involved in the development and commercialization of Solucell®-based technologies, designed to bring new levels of performance, comfort and sustainability to natural-fiber textiles, offering new alternatives to traditional man-made materials while also integrating synthetics where they add value.

He believes textile innovation should be approached with an open mind, starting from the smart combination of the right raw materials and technologies for each specific purpose.
