Regulatory affairs: The Challenge PFOA-free

After the Greenpeace campaign against fluorocarbon, politics have started to change the juristic landscape. PFOA-free is the keyword, but what is the current status in development, law and future perspectives? After a quick introduction of current durable water repellency (DWR) technologies and their functionalities, a short update on the regulatory landscape of certain fluorinated DWR technologies will be given. Information about the environment health safety knowledge of the short-chain chemistries will be pointed out and the technical performance of some of these developments will be highlighted. The presentation also contains information about Archromas latest developments in DWR textile treatments as well as advantages and limitations.
