Head of Materials

In Spring of 2023, Chad became Head of Materials for the Southern Hemisphere’s largest sustainable outdoor brand, Kathmandu. Prior to this, he lived in Germany for four years, spearheading the fabric platforms for Puma and Jack Wolfskin. Before moving to Europe, Chad led innovation in his native USA for outdoor brand L.L.Bean. He also spent 3 years at the IDEA award-winning product design firm, Priority Designs in Columbus, Ohio as their soft-goods specialist (working with clients such as: Target Brands, Wal-Mart, Fischer-Price, Mattel, Disney, Nike, Rawlings, Mead, Motorola, Medtronic, IDEO, and Baxter.

Over the course of his 20-year career, Chad has more than a dozen domestic and international patents to his name. When he’s not pursuing the latest fabric innovations, Chad enjoys caving, backpacking, kayaking, and adventure travel. He currently lives in Christchurch, New Zealand - exploring his newly-adopted country with his wife and two children.
