Presentation Area next to the PERFORMANCE FORUM

The recent catastrophe in Dacca, Bangladesh, once again brings to light the gruesome working conditions in the garment factories of low-cost labor countries. The pressure is growing on brands to take responsibility for their supply chains and new tools are being developed to help make the sportswear business a fairer one.Consumers increasingly want to know the story behind the garments they wear and are putting pressure on brands to address not only the environmental issues of textile manufacturing, but also their social responsibility within the apparel supply chain.

Attending the discussion: representatives from brands and from organizations working on sustainable sourcing and fair trade. Discussing are:

- Dr. Pamela Ravasio, Director of texSture Ltd.
- Mr. David Pircher, Product Manager of OEKO-TEX® Association
- Mr. Berndt Hinzmann, CCC
- Ms. Sophie Bramel, Mediator
