EPR, Collection, and Sorting: Insights on Legislation Across the World

PERFORMANCE DAYS, Munich

Sustainability Stage

Wednesday 14th October 2026

10:00 - 10:45 CEST

Textile Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) is developing rapidly, with Europe and China pursuing different approaches to producer responsibility, collection and sorting. This panel will compare these approaches and examine what they mean for global brands, producers and textile value chains. It will explore the role of EPR schemes and Producer Responsibility Organisations (PROs) in connecting end-of-life textiles with high-quality resource recovery and secondary markets. The discussion will consider the impact of fast fashion and the “Brussels effect”, including whether EU rules can influence textile practices beyond Europe. Finally, the panel will place textile circularity in a wider geopolitical context, exploring supply chains, trade, resource security and the future relationship between Europe and China.
