Over the last decades permanent technological advances and an increasing alienation from nature made us somehow forget the physical aspect of human life. The pandemic has changed this dramatically: we have been confronted with the fragility and vulnerability of the human body. Moreover, we have recognized the value of nature for our physical and mental wellbeing. We have taken the pleasures of nature for granted, (over)using it instead of taking care...

Questions arise:

What is the impact of these experiences during the pandemic on the the textile and sports industry? (Our products touch the human body! And most of them live from sensory experiences...)
Facing ever more extreme living conditions (think of climate change, too!), what kind of products will humans need in the near future? How to adapt and transform production and consumption patterns to increase resilience? How to build a better world? Technological approaches only are not enough. We need a holistic turnaround: re-thinking our lifestyle, imagining new beginnings for the evolution of a truly sustainable and responsible way of life - for the sake of the whole world (and not only of the Northern part.
