Beyond Bio-Based: The Role of Performance in Sustainable Apparel

PERFORMANCE DAYS, Munich

Expert Talks

Tuesday 13th October 2026

16:00 - 16:45 CEST

Sustainability discussions usually stop at material origin - recycled content, bio-based %, certifications while overlooking how a fabric's actual performance in use (durability, recovery, longevity) affects its real-world footprint. A "sustainable" garment that wears out early undermines its own claim. So, in the session we want to give attendees a practical framework for evaluating performance as a sustainability factor and of course want share how Sorona® supports this.
