To biodegrade or not?

PERFORMANCE DAYS, Munich

Presentation Area next to the PERFORMANCE FORUM

Thursday 27th April 2017

13:45 - 14:45 CEST

The notion of biodegradability is rarely brought up in the field of functional fabrics, but this may change as biodegradable synthetics are developed and natural and cellulosic fibre use expands in performance clothing. At a designer level, the need to take into account a product’s entire lifecycle is gaining ground, while at consumer level, growing awareness of environmental issues linked to plastic pollution may also boost demand for clothes that will ultimately disappear.

Panel discussion speakers include:
- Ms Christin Glöckner, Team Leader R&D, Hohenstein Institute
- Ms Daniela Antunes, Business Development Manager, Solvay
- Ms Sarah King, Director Business Development, Smartfiber
- Mr Matthias Böhme, Sales Manager, Lavalan
