The Power of Bluesign Wool
Often the targets of a responsible acting wool industry are contradicting to the market requirements. Solutions can be given by using best available technique (BAT) and reasonable compromises on market demands only if sustainable targets shall be reached. Bluesign will inform about these BAT before Markus Krueger focus on the wool side. Markus will present the chlorine-free EXP merino wool treatment process, the new generation of machine-washable wool treatment. With this patented process which is extremely sustainable, merino can be treated completely AOX-free. The technical performance of the EXP wool is equal to that found in conventional processes, but without the disadvantages created in using chlorine.

About the orator
Kurt Schlaepfer having over 30 years of textile industry experience. After apprenticeship and studies in textile, he worked for textile manufacturers in Switzerland, South Africa and South America. The following work as Regional Sales Manager for a Swiss speciality chemical company and a Swiss textile machine manufacturer gained him further international experience and contacts. In 2009, he joined bluesign technologies ag and is now in senior management, responsible for Customer Relation Management.
