The Higg Index is a compilation of tools that supports brands, retailers and facilities of all sizes on their sustainability journey to disclose and measure their sustainability performance holistically. Within those tools, the Higg Facility Environmental Module (FEM), benchmarks facilities’ environmental performance at all levels. In addition to this, it strives to detect areas of improvement.

Karin Ekberg, who was recently awarded the Higg Index Verification Leadership award by SAC, will elaborate further on what the Higg Index is, and will then explain the benefits of the Higg FEM on the basis of her profound experience as an SAC trainer and chemical-specialist verifier.

Karin is the founder and manager of the sustainability consulting company Leadership & Sustainability. Karin has 30 years of international consulting and industry experience, most recently as Head of Environmental Services at adidas Group, establishing and maintaining group environmental strategies and programmes for it’s internal business operations and global supply chain. She was Chair of the Sustainable Apparel Coalition Board and was instrumental in the set-up of ZDHC, taking on several leadership roles.
