Uniqlo has been discussed a lot as it uses technical textiles for its products "prêt-à-porter". But le phenomenon is not new! Everybody wants the compfort, the functionality, the added value of technical materials for the everyday life. Is this tendancy banalising technical materials or quite the contrary, is it creating new options for the development? Is a lifestyle product necessarily less technical than a specialised product, or is it the other way around does it also have to achieve a long list of requirements? How can the functions be explained towards a bigger pubilic? During the debat, challenges and strategies of "Performance for Everybody" will be analyzed.
