Comfort, function and sustainability are important attributes for athleisure and yoga wear. The fibres used in textiles have major influence on touch, moisture transport, thermoregulation/climate managment, bacterial growth and environmental impact. This presentation gives an overview about the properties of natural fibres like cotton and wool, man made cellulosic fibres like TENCEL®,  Modal and viscose and blends of natural fibres with synthetic fibres.

Sylvia Happel is a textile engineer with 25 years experience in the apparel industry. She started her carreer as a textile designer. Since 2004 she has been working for the man made cellulosic fibre manufacturer Lenzing AG where she is responsible for business development in Northern Europe.
