The European Union has put forward a highly ambitious plan to future-proof the continent: the EU Green Deal. It is rare that we see things develop this quickly and this profoundly at EU level. But what does it exactly entail and what are the timelines for the upcoming changes? Focusing on outdoor textiles, this deep dive aims to untangle the multitude of regulations that form the EU Green Deal and will furthermore highlight the needed first steps to successfully meet the avalanche of changes coming our way.

Maïté Angleys is a sustainability and corporate responsibility specialist with international background. She joined the outdoor industry in 2016 as Director of Sustainability and built up the strategic sustainability management at the UK-based Nikwax group. In her current role at the Association of the German Sporting Goods Industry (BSI) she is involved in the development of the numerous regulations that fall under the EU Green Deal. Maïté is based in Berlin.
