Within the technology of performance fabrics the two most obvious ways to increase the cooling effect are: Using treatments on the fabrics and/or using special qualities of certain yarns. The panel discussion will focus on the latter by examples like:
- Polartec’s Delta as well as Alpha insulation which have made real progress with their cooling base-layer fabrics.
- HD Wool also offering the ability to provide a better level of comfort in both warm & cool conditions.
- Paramo's Analogy fabrics having been inspired by how an animal's coat works.
- BioRacer - an application on a base-layer for extended hot cycle races.

The idea of the panel is to simplify some of the technologies used as well as hosting audience questions.

Panel discussion speakers include:
Moderator: Charles Ross
Gary Smith, CEO, Polartec
Tony Simpson, Operations Manager, HD Wool
Esther Inwood, Designer, Paramo
Sam Ratajczak, Product Designer & Development, Bioracer
Mark Taylor, Research Fellow, Performance Clothing Research Group
