Beauty or Function - What Drives the Sales of Performance Sportswear?
The sports industry keeps on re-presenting itself based on better technology, driving sales from enabling the wearer to achieve more (hopefully in greater comfort). Or is it all about how the garment looks? Charles has spent over 20 years teaching PSDesign alongside working for brands - what could be learnt?
About the orator
Charles has been in the Outdoor Industry for the last 30 years, first as an Outward Bound Instructor & then in the technical clothing. 20 years ago he was recruited into the education of the next generation of designers for the Outdoor Industry with the development of the Performance Sportswear Design degree programme, and has popped up on various projects like the Wrap.org.uk textile project, as well as a contributor to various journals & as a member of the Do Lecture team. Sustainability through longevity is a core principle.
